The inventory is described on three levels: categories, models, and items tracked one by one as soon as they carry an identifier.
Availability reads day by day, and conflicts show before renting, not after.
A rental is paid for and invoiced in the same place as a course, with its own tab on the client record.
Track an item, or just a stock
Not every school numbers its gear. A model can therefore be handled as stock — five size-M wetsuits — or item by item when each carries an identifier and deserves its own history.
Condition and damage are recorded on the item. An extension and a deposit are handled from the rental, with no spreadsheet in between.
The money side of a rental
Rates are set per duration. A payment link can target a specific rental, and the invoice lands in the same place as the ones for courses.

Does every piece of gear need an identifier?
No. A model is handled as stock if the school does not number its items; individual tracking is for what deserves a history.
