Collect the way the school already collects
By card, by link, in cash or in two instalments — always in the same place.
In short
- Cards go through Stripe; the school keeps its own account and the platform takes no commission on bookings.
- A payment link can be sent by email, or copied to be passed on through whichever channel you like.
- A partial payment is entered as a deposit, and a refund can be full or partial, with its reason.
Offline is not a degraded case
A school also takes cash, cheques, or payment at the counter. Those settlements are entered like any other, and the invoice declares the means actually used — not “card” by default.
When settlement happened elsewhere, the button reads “Mark as paid”. The word matters: a transaction announced as card when it was cash corrupts the bank reconciliation.
What happens to money once received
- A payment belongs to the client, and is allocated to what it settles
- A deposit stays a deposit — neither “paid” nor “unpaid”
- A refund can be partial, with its reason recorded
- The client is notified by email at every step

Who receives the booking money?
The school, on its own Stripe account. OTOY BOOKING takes no commission on bookings.
Can half be collected now and the rest later?
Yes. The first payment is recorded as a deposit, and the client record shows what is still owed.
