Collect the way the school already collects
By card, by link, in cash or in two instalments — always in the same place.
In short
- Cards go through Stripe, as do Apple Pay and Google Pay; the school keeps its own account and the site takes no commission on bookings.
- A payment link is sent by email or copied; the school then sees whether it was paid, resends it or cancels it.
- A partial payment is entered as a deposit, and a refund can be full or partial, with its reason.
Paying with a phone
When paying online, the client sees Apple Pay or Google Pay at the top of the form, depending on their device, next to the bank card. The payment-method choice already announces it on the previous step. The school's booking domain is registered with Stripe from the platform: the school has nothing to install.
A link sent is never lost
- Every link sent is listed on the client record: amount, author, date and number of sends
- Its status can be read: pending, paid, cancelled
- Resending a link sends the same one, never a second one to pay
- A payment declined by the bank alerts the team by email, with the reason in plain words
Offline is not a degraded case
A school also takes cash, cheques, or payment at the counter. Those settlements are entered like any other, and the invoice declares the means actually used — not “card” by default.
When settlement happened elsewhere, the button reads “Mark as paid”. The word matters: a transaction announced as card when it was cash corrupts the bank reconciliation.
What happens to money once received
- A payment belongs to the client, and is allocated to what it settles
- A deposit stays a deposit — neither “paid” nor “unpaid”
- A refund can be partial, with its reason recorded
- The client is notified by email at every step
- The day's takings, sorted by method: cash, card terminal, cheques, online
- A card dispute alerts the team by email, before its deadline

Frequently asked
Can the client pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Yes. Both appear in the online payment form when the client's device offers them, next to the card. Fees are Stripe's card fees.
Who receives the booking money?
The school, on its own Stripe account. OTOY BOOKING takes no commission on bookings.
Can half be collected now and the rest later?
Yes. The first payment is recorded as a deposit, and the client record shows what is still owed.
